It's true to say that the vast majority of the adult populations of every country in the world are trapped in the rat race. If you're reading this it's a fair assumption to say that you are almost certainly locked into a lifestyle that generates bills and to pay those bills you are forced to hold down a job you probably don't enjoy. Life has evolved so that we are conditioned to work 9-5 for five days, week in week out and year after year until, worn out we retire on a paltry pension. I'd like you to take a moment to think how you feel when your alarm clock calls you from the warmth of your bed on a dreary Monday morning. Chances are you rise reluctantly, depressed at the thought of another week of drudge. Feels really bad doesn't it as you contemplate the whole working week stretched out in front of you. Friday seems a long way off but getting there is what keeps you going.
Think now about that feeling of euphoria that envelops you the moment your shift ends on Friday as you gear up for a weekend of quality time with family and friends. Unfortunately the weekend flys by in a blur. Think now how depressed you feel on Sunday evening knowing that yet another of those dreaded Monday mornings is coming right up. That's the rat race, most of us enter it not knowing where the finishing line is, how to win it or even why we're running. So why not just drop out? Let the rest carry headlong toward a stress related illness as they compete in the rat race, a race with no prizes and no winners only losers. Trust me, you can drop out any time you want to.
For the average person winning a major jackpot on the lottery is about the only way they can envisage being able to get out of the rat race. That's because most of us are not even actively looking for ways out. We just go on assuming that we have to do what everybody else is doing. Not so.
